Our Story

My obsession with ornaments began years ago when a childhood friend gave me a gift basket full of beautiful ornaments when I left home at 18 years old to join the Air Force. She wanted me to have a bit of "home" wherever I went. Since then, those treasured ornaments have traveled with me across the globe - they adorned my first Christmas tree in Germany, made their way back across multiple US states, to and fro between Florida and the Northeast a few times, and finally settling with me here in the beautiful Florida Keys, where I've called home for the past 12 years. Though now well-loved, each and every one of those ornaments still maintain a special place on my holiday tree.

Over the years, I've given this same gift to many others near and dear to me who often still reach out at Christmas to share a special memory or two. It's priceless. I've also learned something interesting when planning these gifts ... think about it ... have you ever tried to buy Christmas ornaments in May for a spring or summer bride? Or in mid-summer when your favorite 20-something is moving into their first apartment? Sure, we tend to have stockpiles of ornaments available everywhere we turn by autumn but, even then, you'd better be quick ... because our trees seem to be going up earlier and earlier each year! Not only that, but do you know that there are these amazing people out there who keep their Christmas trees up year round? And they decorate them with different themes every month? I kid you not, and they can be incredibly creative, to say the least!

But ... what's in it for you?

So with all of that in mind, my sincerest goal here at Christmas Market Ornaments is to provide a home base for your Christmas ornament shopping all through the year. Each and every piece I showcase is hand-chosen from suppliers I have personally met at markets, shows, and events while paying close attention to quality and design. Some are simply gorgeous, others collection-worthy, and yet others that are just irresistibly quirky and fun. I've also started working with a small group of artisans - painters, graphic designers, and photographers (me included!) - whose work you will also find here at Christmas Market Ornaments. What a thrill!
